Getting started in SBA - PPP
What is PPP?
The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) was created as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES). The PPP makes $350 billion in paycheck protection loans available to small businesses, with an availability of up to $10 million in forgivable loans for individual businesses.
A small business may qualify for PPP if it has fewer than 500 employees and was in business as of February 15, 2020. Unlike other SBA loan programs, the PPP considers nonprofits, sole proprietors, and independent contractors eligible.
