Instant
Instant Books are processed solely through automated means without any human intervention. This method ensures swift processing speeds and shorter turnaround times. Currently, only select document types can be processed via Instant. To know more about the Instant supported documents, see the All Supported Documents section.
Complete Books are processed using Ocrolus’ standard approach of initial machine automation followed by Human In The Loop (HITL) validation and verification when required. This process ensures the highest level of accuracy for all Ocrolus support documents.
Note:
Before you can start using Instant on the Dashboard to work with Books, you must first be configured by Ocrolus to do so. If you're interested in using Instant, please reach out to your Account Manager or contact us at [email protected] today.
Recommended workflow
If you decide to use both Instant and Complete for document processing, then we suggest the following workflow:
- Create Books using Instant. For more details about creating a Book using Instant, see Create an Instant Book.
- Review the results on the Book Overview and other relevant pages like Accounts, Transactions, and Detect.
- Check if the results are sufficient and meet your needs for your workflow or decision-making.
- If the results are sufficient, then proceed with your workflow.
- If the results are insufficient e.g., missing data, Instant couldn't process some documents, or no metrics, then convert the Book to Complete and review the results when they're available.
Create an Instant Book
To create a Book using Instant, perform the following steps:
-
Log in to the Ocrolus Dashboard.
-
On the Books page, click NEW BOOK in the screen's upper right corner.

On the Create New Book pop-up, enter the name of your Book and choose Instant from the Processing Type dropdown list.

Identifying processing method
You can identify whether a Book has been processed using Instant or Complete from the Book Summary page on the Dashboard. The Processing Type column on the Book Summary page will show the processing method using which the Book is processed.
Instant processes documents individually, so there might be cases where certain documents within a Book cannot be handled through Instant. Books that have been processed entirely automatically will be marked as Instant, while those processed using Ocrolus HITL will be labeled as Complete.

Note:
If you cannot locate this column, it indicates that your organization has not been set up for Instant processing. To learn more or to enable Instant for your organization, please get in touch with your Account Manager or contact [email protected].
The Processing Type column also offers filtering options. To use this feature, click on All to open the filter and choose the options you want to filter by.

Furthermore, a blue banner will appear on this page to clearly indicate when the processing type is Instant.
